The Indiana Pacers beat the visiting Los Angeles Lakers senseless on Monday, snapping an eight-game losing streak with the 110-91 win.
Kobe Bryant scored 21 points to lead all scorers, but that came from 8-of-26 shooting. The Pacers were led by Rodney Stuckey's 20 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists, while C.J. Miles added 20 of his own off the bench.
With the Lakers finishing up a road trip, playing in the second game of a back-to-back and coming off the emotional high of Bryant passing Michael Jordan's career point total, they came out decidedly flat in Indy.
The Pacers romped to a 60-27 halftime lead and held the Lakers to 16 percent shooting. That marked the Lakers' worst half of basketball since 1960.
The Lakers will have all week to rest up in advance of hosting Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder on Dec. 19. The Pacers will find considerably more resistance on Dec. 17 when they visit the L.A. Clippers.
