Every December, World Wrestling Entertainment holds its annual Tribute to the Troops special event in hopes of repaying, even in the slightest, the men and women of the United States armed forces for their service with a night of sports and entertainment.
Wednesday night, the 2014 edition of the show hit the airwaves as part of WWE Week on USA Network. The show was headlined by a huge eight-man tag team match pitting John Cena, Dolph Ziggler, Ryback and Erick Rowan against Seth Rollins, Big Show, Luke Harper and Kane. Hulk Hogan made a special appearance, and Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt continued their rivalry with a very special Boot Camp match presided over by Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter.
What did or did not happen had little effect on WWE storytelling or any show prior to or after. What mattered was that the troops in attendance were entertained.
Judging on their reaction to the night's festivities, they were.
With the show in the books, here is a recap of WWE's latest effort to give back to those who have given so much.
This was Tribute to the Troops 2014.
