Former Professional Footballers Association chairman Clarke Carlisle is still hospitalised after being hit by a lorry on Dec. 22, but his family have revealed he is making progress.Carlisle was known as one of the most intelligent players on British pitches during his playing career, and he achieved further fame after his career with appearances on the TV show Countdown and as an ITV pundit.
BBC Sport elected him as "Britain's Brainiest Footballer" in 2002, and he was a logical choice as chairman of the PFA.
