Sheamus hasn't done much since returning at the 2014 Royal Rumble. He failed to win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania XXX and lost to Bad News Barrett in the semifinals of the Intercontinental Championship tournament before claiming the U.S. title. That's a surprisingly stagnant run for somebody who always hovered around the main event picture before going down with an injury in August 2013. If Sheamus were to drop the U.S. title to The Miz, then he could start to work his way back into the world title picture. Less than a month ago, The Miz dropped the Intercontinental Championship to Dolph Ziggler and has since feuded with Sheamus. Winning the U.S. title wouldn't necessarily be a step up, but it would allow him to have gold of some kind and possibly raise the stakes for the Damien Mizdow/The Miz rivalry, which is likely to happen at some point down the road.

Sheamus and The Miz look set to blow off their recent feud at WWE's next pay-per-view. According to WWE.com's John Clapp, the two will wrestle at Hell in a Cell for the United States Championship.

Over the last two weeks, Sheamus and The Miz have become well acquainted with one another.

On the Oct. 6, 2014 edition of Raw, The Miz used a distraction from Damien Mizdow to roll up the Celtic Warrior for the win.A week later, The Miz again used Mizdow as a human shield as he outwitted Sheamus to pick up a count-out victory.Sheamus hasn't done much since returning at the 2014 Royal Rumble.
